On behalf of both the Organisation and Scientific Committee and the International Advisory Board (IAB), it is a great pleasure to welcome you in Nantes, France, for DIOXIN 2020, the 40th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) from 30 August to 4 September 2020.
For this edition in Nantes, there will be a full scientific programme covering all aspects of dioxins, “Stockholm” POPs, brominated flame retardants, perfluorinated chemicals and emerging contaminants. Regarding the programme organization, we will endeavor whenever possible to put together environment, food and health related issues.
Topics will address major advances in analytical determination, the comprehensive understanding of emission, transport, fate, degradation, exposure (ecosystem and human), toxic behavior, effect, risk assessment and risk management, microplastics and e-waste.
A particular attention will be paid to chlorinated paraffins (CPs), chloronaphtalenes (CNs) any emerging contaminants both in the food web and human.
Relevant analytical strategies including Non Targeted Screening (NTS) and metabolomics will be discussed.

We will hold the symposium at La Cité Nantes Congress Center
. Located in the heart of Nantes, the venue is in an exciting location close to the main attractions of the city. In the city center, just a 5-min walk from the high-speed train station (South exit) and a 20-min shuttle ride from the airport, the Congress Center is served by excellent transport links. The weather in August in Nantes is almost perfect. Temperatures range from 20-28°C.
