PRE-DIOXIN 2020 STUDENT SYMPOSIUM
A full-day Pre-Dioxin 2020 Student Symposium, organised by students
and dedicated to students
only will be held on Saturday 29th August 2020
, in the municipal hall Manufacture
(10 Bis Boulevard de Stalingrad, 44000 Nantes) close to the city centre of Nantes. It will present the opportunity for students to enhance networking and to share their innovative work with peers in an understanding and positive environment.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Luisa RAMOS BORDAJANDI for a plenary session. Luisa holds a PhD in Science focused on the development of multidimensional analytical techniques for the analysis of contaminants in food. Her post-doctoral research was on the development of certified reference materials for contaminants, in particular PAHs. In 2008, she joined the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and acts since then as a Scientific Officer within the Unit on Biological Hazards and Contaminants (BIOCONTAM). There she provides support for the EFSA Panel on Contaminants in the Food Chain and its Working Groups in the development of risk assessments related to the presence of contaminants in food and feed, including brominated flame retardants, dioxins and PCBs, chlorinated paraffins and acrylamide among others. She will give talk about the risk assessment process with suitable practical examples, and the interaction with European Commission and Member States, related to legacy and emerging contaminants.
Three parallel thematic sessions
will be held to enable the maximum number of students to present their work within 20 minutes time slots (including questions) and to gain experience in chairing a session. All students are welcome to submit their abstracts for an oral presentation
when registering for the Dioxin 2020 symposium. We welcome Abstracts that highlight new findings fitting the scope of the Dioxin 2020 symposium. Only one submission per registered student is permitted. All submissions must be a one-page abstract or preferentially a four-page short paper (see guidelines established for Dioxin 2020 symposium). Abstracts will be reviewed independently of those put forward to Dioxin 2020 Symposium. Submission deadline as well as acceptance/rejection are set according to the Dioxin 2020 key dates
Participants of the Student Symposium must be registered for the Dioxin 2020 Symposium, and have paid applicable registration fees. The day will comprise refreshments breaks and a lunch. Registration to the Student Symposium includes no additional cost
. Students will be encouraged to spend time together during an evening social activity
to be announced later.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope to meet you at Dioxin 2020 in Nantes.
